As a reinsurance captive company, NASWIC is pivotal in supporting NASW’s Professional Liability Insurance Program (PLI), a flagship product essential for delivering unparalleled value to NASW members and the social work profession.

Based in the metro Washington, D.C. area and regulated by the local Department of Insurance, NASWIC ensures financial stability and reliability. Premiums are systematically written and earned over time, with claims and administrative expenses meticulously managed. NASW Assurance Services Inc. oversees marketing, customer billing, underwriting, and servicing, while NASWIC holds reserves to offset future claims.

NASWIC was established to:
